Chelsea Clinton's Wedding Day

The Gluten Surprise

So, who would have known that the biggest wedding of the year would feature a gluten free wedding cake. I myself had a small gluten free cake made for my wedding reception to go along with my giant bright blue skyscraper. Its refreshing to hear that brides are taking chances, especially the famous ones. Along, with the special cake, Ms. Clinton will be sharing a vegan menu along with the former and current presidents and first ladies. I just wish I was able to get a slice.

Udi's strikes again

mmmmm....

This weekend while picking up my supply of Udi's bread, I happen to pick up some of their cinnamon rolls and bagels as well. THEY ARE AWESOME!! They are soft and yummy and the cinnamon rolls are even gooey. I just toasted the bagel like normal and spread on some cream cheese and VOILA! Just like old times. I hadn't had a bagel in 3 years. I heated the rolls up for 20 secs and then 10 secs in the microwave and they turned out delicious.

Speak to your local grocer about keeping them in stock. I am lucky to be located where I have access to a lot of variety.

***UPDATE*** Udi's products are now available at Wholefoods in Sarasota, Atlanta, and Chicago!!

Let me know if you anyone finds anything they can't live without out there.

Oh Yeah!!

Yeah! Burger Atlanta

I was over in the West side Provisions area on Howell Mill Rd in Atlanta today and found myself at Yeah! Burger. I had heard rumors of the local grass-fed beef that could be served on a gluten free bun.

I have to say it was pretty tasty. They have special bakery style buns along with fresh gluten free fries made in a dedicated fryer. They also seem to follow a sustainable business model which is always very pleasing to me.

Head out this weekend, or any night this week for that matter, and pick up a fresh Yeah! Burger. And by the way, it won't even break the bank. Our whole meal for the both of us was $20.

While you are at it, check out some music by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to go with your burger.

Happy 4th

Who needs a bun?

Are you feeling the holiday crush right now? That feeling of "how will I enjoy the fun if I can't have a hot dog?" Well, you can easily make your 4th of July weekend easy and gluten free.

My menu for Sunday includes a dry-rubbed brisket, corn-on -the-cob, Bush's Baked Beans (yes the vegetarian ones are GF), deviled eggs, and ice cream. I'm am having friends over for a secretly gluten free bash and no one will be the wiser.

I try to think creatively during the holidays and try not to get bogged down by the little stuff I can't have.

If you really want a hot dog, try the Applegate Farms all beef dogs or the Boars Head hot dog links. They are delicious and say gluten free on the package.  I like to wrap them up in a slice of Udi's bread or some iceberg lettuce.

Now wasn't that easy?

Be sure to always check the ingredient labels. A lot of company's say Gluten Free right on the label now.
